Questions and answers about the Tell Pass for Central Switzerland

No discounts are available for young people.

Children aged at least 6 and under 16 travel for a fixed price of CHF 30, whether for 2 or 10 days. Children under 6 travel for free and do not require a ticket. The Junior Travelcard/Children’s Co-Travelcard/Swiss Family Card is valid in conjunction with the Tell Pass.

There is no discount on the Tell Pass if you have a Swiss Travel Pass / Swiss Half Fare Card / Half-Fare travelcard / GA travelcard.
No, there is no discount for senior citizens for the Tell Pass.
The Junior Travelcard/Children’s Co-Travelcard/Swiss Family Card is valid in conjunction with the regional pass.

Tickets will only be fully refunded if you have taken out the FLEX CANCELLATION OPTION and if they are cancelled at least 1 day before travel. You can add the FLEX CANCELLATION OPTION for payment protection in the final step of the checkout process before payment.

If you have not taken out the Flex Cancellation Option, a cancellation fee of CHF 30 will be charged, and a fee of CHF 60 will apply if the cancellation is made between 1 and 3 days prior to travel. You can find more information about our cancellation policy here.

The idea is simple – buy your Tell Pass, pay and get on board. The ticket does not need to be validated. On request, the Tell Pass must be presented together with a valid ID. At some operators, the Tell Pass must be exchanged for a ticket at the cash desk.

Trains, buses and boats in Central Switzerland are included in the pass. However, seat reservations are not included. Unrestricted travel on many mountain railways (including cable cars, funicular railways and cogwheel railways) is included.

The Tell Pass only covers part of the route from Zurich Airport to Lucerne. This means you need an additional, regular ticket from Zurich (Airport) to Zug before you then travel on to Lucerne with the Tell Pass.
The Tell Pass is available to tourists from abroad as well as to Swiss citizens.
